New Oils:

A stunning Certified Organic Rosemary Verbenon from South Africa, and, after searching for  years, a Certified organic cold pressed Clementine Rind.

Some of you were disappointed when I substituted a conventionally farmed USA grown Rosemary Verbenon for our earlier French Organic variety. (Some of you were delighted because the USA grown was half the price!) We found an organic distiller in South Africa with a beautiful, Ecocert oil, so now we are offering both!

Clementine has been my favorite citrus oil for years.  Gentle, sweet, and soft this Tangerine hybrid combines the sweetness of tangerine with the complexity of Red Mandarine.  It is a delight.  We have been searching for an organically grown clementine for years, and it just arrived.

Marula Oil - the most unusual carrier oil we have ever experienced.

When we first received a sample of this cold pressed traditional South African oil, and put a drop on our skin, we were all  amazed.  It was DRY in no time.  I have never had a fixed oil sink into the skin with NO oily residue.  Then I started researching it. Marula oil has remarkable qualities; it is rich in anti-oxidants and oleic acids, both essential components for the maintenance of healthy skin. It is able to leave your skin feeling soft, hydrated and nourished, leaving your skin revitalized. With its combination of high nutritional value and excellent stability, marula oil is an ideal and innovative choice for modern cosmetic formulas and as an carrier oil for aromatherapy.  Because of its rich components it is normally recommended for dry or mature skin, but I think it will be a wonderful base oil for oily skin.

Cleopatra's Secret - Our newest Goatsmilk soap.  Frankincense, nurturing to mature and sensitive skin,  Myrrh for it's antibacterial effects, a touch of rose for all round pampering, rich with shea and cocoa butters,  this is a soap truly fit for a queen. Even a touch of gold for royalty.    One client wrote begging me to make more of this costly soap, said that it was the only one she and her friends would use.  That it was perfect for every skin type, and the best facial soap they had ever discovered.  Available in 1.75 "guest bars" (while they last) and 4 oz.

NEW Rosacea Travel Kit - For Rosacea, sensitive skin, your skin - travel sized packages of our suite of sensitive skin products.  2 oz of our Rosacea Cleanser,  1/2 oz of our aloe-based Rosacea Treatment Gel, and a 1 oz atomizer of Helichrysum Hydrosol,  packaged in a vinyl drawstring bag, with a silk cosmetic sponge as an added gift for you.

Aromalamp Sale: Our classic "Moon and Stars" aromalamp (one of the first we ever offered!)  now at 1/2 price.

MOTHER'S DAY SPECIAL SALE

Mothers love roses!  (At least, all the mothers here do.)  So we are offering our Rose Bliss Bath, and Rose Shower Gel at the lowest prices ever.  We had temporarily been out of stock on our Rose Shower Gel (rich with Rose Absolute and Rose Otto) and Debbie Morey wrote asking when more would be available. She said "I have to tell you, when I first received that gel, I was certain that there was heroin or something in it--it was so addicting and I just couldn't take enough showers with it!  ;-)  I must've really needed the nurturing and balancing that Rose provides! The texture of the shower gel is wonderful, too, especially when compared to other natural liquid soaps."

Give your mom, or yourself, that nurturing on May 14th!

More for Mom - a Wearable perfume bottle!   Our Marble Swirled amphoras make lovely wearable perfume bottles.  I have Rose Otto 10% in two of them and Reunite' anoint in the third. Save $5.00 by ordering the amphora on our Specials page, then go buy Mom her favorite aromatic in a 10% dilution from our Essential Oils quick order page.  We'll package them together in a floral tissue and you are good to go.

Overstock

Sometimes our pourers get carried away and pour more than we need in a specific size.   We don't have shelf room!

SEABUCKTHORN BERRY CO2 EXTRACT -  We have far too many 1 oz bottles on hand.  While they last, save $6.00 by ordering on our Specials page.

5 ml bottles of:  Rosewood, Lemongrass, Palma Rosa, Himalayan Cedarwood, Lemon Tea Tree, Patchouli...  all sorts of things that we don't offer in 5 mls.  Limited quantities of each, and when they are gone, they are gone.

Charity of the Quarter:

CASA - have you donated to CASA yet?  In honor of Mothers Day,  add a few dollars to your order to help the midwives and mothers of poverty stricken rural Mexico.  Read about the work that CASA does on our specials page, and follow the link to their website.  Nature's Gift is honored to be a part of the work they are doing, and we welcome your support and participation.

Sore Muscles?

This is the time of year when everyone here is working in their yards, planting their gardens, and overtaxing our muscles.  Because you may be doing the same thing, we are putting our effective MuscleEase Massage Oil on special sale.  Just the ticket to sooth overworked/over stressed muscles.

Press Notice:

Received a copy of Fervor Magazine (www.fervormagazine.com) in Tuesday afternoon's mail, and there was a brief "introductory" article about Aromatherapy.   At the end they did a "where to start" sidebar.  Lots of good listings. For information, my friend Wendy Robbin's Aromaweb. (www.aromaweb.com)  Jeanne Rose's Aromatic Plant Project (www.aromaticplantproject.com), and the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy (www.NAHA.org).  (You know we are members of both of the above organizations, right?)and some sources for Essential Oils -- Nature's Gift leads the list.  We're just tickled!

Monday, May 1, Donna Maria, of The Handmade Beauty Network (http://www.handmadebeauty.com/) is featuring an interview with Marge, about Nature's Gift.  We have NO idea what it's going to be like, but we're looking forward to seeing it.

A very special Happy Birthday

One day last week we received an email from a gentleman wanting to purchase a gift certificate, for larger than the amount we offer them in.  Come to find out, it was his mother's 80th birthday.  When asked what she wanted, her response was "Essential Oils,  but they HAVE to be from Nature's Gift."

We weren't about to let a little thing like the limitations of the shopping cart stand in our way, and today Jewel's birthday order is being packed and sent out, with all of our best wishes.

Happy 80th Birthday, Jewel!

HINTS, TIPS, and FEEDBACK

A very special bath, indeed! Our Linda, who keeps your hydrosols and carrier oils poured and ready to ship, suggests adding either some Moondays, or Passages Anointing oil to a scoop of unscented Bliss Bath.   We tried it. Both are lovely, and the bath not only smells wonderful, but helps deal with all sorts of "female problems."

Tick relief: Wendy C. recently wrote that adding a bit of Rose Geranium to our SkeeterBeater Synergy makes it a very effective tick repellant.  Blend some Rose Geranium essential oil (she didn't say how much, I would suggest between 1/2 ml and 1 ml for a 5 ml bottle of SkeeterBeater Synergy)  and dilute.  She suggested using witch hazel and distilled water.  I've not tried this because Max and Starr have not been bothered by Ticks...but if your back yard seems to be tick infested, you might want to try it.

Pain Relief: Nancy Zimmerman recently wrote:  "You guys are the best! By the way, I just got some holy basil from you to use on my aching joint and it works like magic. I add it to my own blend of St. John's wort, helichrysum, lavender, and Roman chamomile. I've been using it for nerve and muscle pain (a chronic condition) with great success. The holy basil kicks it up a couple of notches. It's amazing.
Thanks again,
Nancy"

Moth Buster:  Packing away the winter clothes?  Use this aromatic alternative to moth  balls to store your cold weather clothes:

Add:

2 ml Eucalyptus, 1 ml Lemon tea-tree, 1 ml Peppermint
to one quart white vinegar

Use one/half  cup (4 oz, 125 ml) in the final rinse.

All oils are not alike!

A client recently commented on the fact that a certain supplier's Foraha (Calophyllum inophyllum) was MUCH less expensive than ours.  I told her in the past, before I found our current producer, I had purchased from this supplier, and was pleased, so she should perhaps order from the less expensive source.  She wrote a few weeks later just appalled. Based on both the taste and the aroma, she thought theirs was rancid. She ordered I think it was 16 ounces of ours.  Her comment when she received our oil:

"Dear Marge, I just wanted to let you know that I received the
calophyllum inophyllum oil today and it is just what I expected:
WONDERFUL.
I tasted it as well (to compare it to the xxx oil), and it tastes
very similar, so perhaps their oil isn't rancid after all. The smell,
however, is sweet and nutty, where theirs is bitter and strange. I
guess it may just be a case of you get what you pay for!
Thanks for all the help.
Rosa"

Aromatic quote of the Month - for the May Flowers:

"And because the breath of flowers is far sweeter in the air (where
it comes and goes, like the warbling of music) than in the hand,
therefore nothing is more fit for that delight than to know what be the
flowers and plants that do best perfume the air."
F. Bacon

Have a marvelous May everyone!
