OUR CLIENTS SAY

  August 8, 2003

August&the dog days&  time to reach for some peppermint hydrosol.

Courtney mentioned her niece carrying a spray

on water bottle for a day at the zoo&and adding some of
our Peppermint hydrosol for extra cooling.  And Ive
needed to reach for the Yarrow hydrosol to treat a hotspot
on little Max (our Pomeranian for those who've never visited
the shop pictures.)  Because you might need them too on these
hot hot days&weve taken a dollar off both, but only if
ordered through our specials page.

Summer blend

reprinted from a newsletter from several

years ago& a delightful summery floral blend, light and
refreshing for the lamp, or to wear:  one drop each of
Spearmint, Ylangylang, and Tuberose 10%...  (or 10 drops
each of the ylangylang and spearmint with one drop of
undiluted Tuberose)

NEW  for the bath&

sea grass sponges at a bargain price.

(Weve seen these generously sized sponges for $10.00 at
the mall; ours are half that price.  Take one of our new
soaps,  a sponge, a pine soap deck and you have a really
nice gift basket for a man or woman.  Add some bath salts
and, for real luxury, some of our bliss bath.  All available

Speaking of Baths&weve added a milk soap using our Harmony

synergy; wonderful for mature and/or combination skin, and a
really good unisex scent.  AND a Rose Confetti soap& with rose
otto and absolute and rose wood oils and rose wax&truly a
bouquet of roses for you.

For long trips in the car&

we recommend our FOCUS or our SMOKE EATER synergies; both are refreshing and uplifting. Both seem to help with mental focus and alertness without causing

physical stimulation.  And if car sickness may be a problem, we
would sniff at either peppermint or ginger oils.

Speaking of peppermint& CAR EXHAUST&

we are on a very busy street.  Debi was walking to the local store.  The heat and exhaust fumes (traffic was really bad) gave her a headache and upset stomach.

I suggested peppermint&she inhaled some from a sample&and was fine.
Now, I dont recommend smelling exhaust fumes if one can avoid
it&but the peppermint did help.

NEW ROSEMARY OIL&

weve had to replace our Rosemary Provence, and

found a lovely Moroccan Rosemary Cineole.  GCMS tested of
course; and aromatically delightful.  AND at a greatly
reduced price.  Available with our descriptive listings

Rosemary Bath Blend

Speaking of Rosemary&Elizabeth Millar recommends a blend
of equal parts Thyme Linalol, Pink Grapefruit and Rosemary
for an energizing bath that carries with it the optimism
of a sunshiny day

ACID REFLUX:

Ruth Gilbert writes: We've now taken to using

a combo of fennel and bergamot to deal with my husband's
Gerds (acid reflux)--and it works better than all the over the
counter preparations he's taken for years.  Feel free to pass
this on however you wish.

NEW perfume AND new atomizer.

ANNE added some of our Carnation Memories synergy to our
perfumers alcohol and let it stand a long long time.  The
result is delightful..spicy and floral and well, we all
love it, even those who didnt care for the original synergy.
To compliment it, weve added some wee silver purse sized
perfume atomizers.  They are pictured on our Specials page,
and available both there and on our Bottles page.
(Have you seen our full array of perfume bottles yet?)

SleepEase:

Carolyn Singer writes:
My favorite oil blend is Sleepy Time.  It is such a comforting
fragrance.  I put it on my feet before I go to bed, especially
if I've had a tense or stressful evening and know I may have
trouble sleeping.  It is off to dreamland in 15-20 minutes when
I use it, and I have a good night's sleep.
Looking forward to receiving your news updates again.  Thanks....

LARGER SIZE:

In this heat, our Virgin Coconut Oil has been melting and leaking
during shipment.  Weve repackaged it in our 16 oz bale jars.
Feedback indicates that even though it is being received as a
liquid, the jars arent leaking.  If you can use that much of the
lovely stuff, its available on our carrier oils page. (I walked
out into the kitchen when the girls had been filling the jars, and
it smelled SO good I needed a candy fix!)

Rose Oil Pricing

Many of you know that the prices of Bulgarian and Turkish

Rose Oil have jumped sharply this year, perhaps as high as 65% direct
from the distiller.  We do not yet know what we will be paying for
our Turkish Rose Oil or our Absolutes;  we have purchased our years
supply of Bulgarian Rose Otto and have been able to keep our increase
far below what we are seeing elsewhere.  As of right now, we have been
able to hold the increase on our Bulgarian Rose Otto to a mere 15%.
And Debi reminds me that in the eight years we have been in business
on the internet, we have NEVER raised our shipping charges.  I'm proud
of us.

Bragging rights!

AND...another reason for us to be proud.  We have recently been selected
as provider of the Module 1 Kit for Dr. Jane Buckle's Aromatherapy for
Health Professionals accreditation course.  We have always known that
our oils were the quality that health care professionals should be
using.  We thank Jane for her validation.

END OF SUMMER QUOTE:

"The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose..."
I wish I knew the source.

might enjoy it.
