OUR CLIENTS SAY

Nature's Gift August Newsletter

Sorry, folks, no long chatty newsletter this month, there are not enough hours in the day.  But we wanted to let you know our new products and special sales page is live and online.  We do share some feedback and suggestions from our clients near the bottom of this page, as well as Blog Updates, and a Facebook Fan prize winner.

If you have difficulty reading this newsletter, it is posted online at http://www.naturesgift.com/NewsAug09.htm

Among the new and back in stock products we offer:

  • Immortelle Absolute - our gift to the perfumers
  • TWO new Roman Chamomile Essential Oils - a lovely French specimen, and our long missing English Chamomile. Both anthemis nobilis.
  • ORGANIC Atlas Cedarwood
  • Rosemary Camphor - out of stock for a year or more.
  • New Hydrosol:  CUCUMBER... a wonderfully cooling body splash!
  • New packaging: COBALT glass roller top bottles (to better protect your precious blends and diluted perfumes.)
  • Back in Stock: Melissa Hydrosol and our organic Vitex Hydrosol
  • Back in stock Jewelry - Lapiz, Amazonite and Red Jasper Amulets

A special back to school sale on Focus, Fog Cutter and Flu Foil synergies.

Our limited supply of the earlier distillation of Wildcrafted Atlas Cedarwood is available at a greatly reduced price on our Clearance Page.

Blog updates:

Recent blog posts have included a wonderfully fulfilling anecdote about the use of our Focus Synergy.  Christi just this morning posted about my forthcoming "cross country adventure" looking for suggestions of places to go and things to see enroute.

In July we blogged some answers to a Skincare question; a bit of serendipity about some aged Patchouli oil. I posted a rant about Yahoo not delivering our Emails to clients. That particular rant contained a coincidental "finding" that gave me goosebumps!  The National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy did a lovely review of my book.  We also completed our series of articles on creating homemade face masks (or masques, if you prefer.)

Facebook Winner:

The July winner of the Nature's Gift Facebook Fan giveaway was Margaret Bergen, in Florida.  Margaret will be receiving a "not quite perfect" Cobalt Aromastone just for being a Facebook fan of Nature's Gift.   (To be eligible for next months drawing, please become one of our fans. That is the quickest way to find out what is going on at Nature's Gift. Fast special sales, new products, anything newsworthy.  Become a fan at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Madison-TN/Natures-Gift-Aromatherapy/33058217645   (Yes, Facebook may qualify as what one friend calls "the world's greatest time sink" but it is still the fastest and easiest way to stay in touch!)

Client Feedback:

Beth King recently wrote, and gave me permission to share:

My husband took a spill at a community event and scraped himself up fairly thoroughly.  When he got home that evening, his knees (he was wearing a kilt) were scraped and bruising was beginning to show and heat up the area.  I remembered from the website that Helichrysum is good against bruising, and grabbed the bottle of 10% I had on hand -- a few drops on each knee and NO bruising, swelling or heat was evident by morning.  Also the scratches seemed to be healing nearly as fast as the abrasions to which neat Lavender vera was applied.

Thanks, Beth... more evidence of the healing power of our Corsican Heli!

Melanie Rogers posted a wonderful review of some of our products on the Momsloveshopping website.

Mei-Ling Lin recently wrote of our Jasmine Sambac and Osmanthus absolutes:

My favorite is jasmine sambac and osmanthus. I grew up in Taiwan, and osmanthus trees are quite popular in my hometown. People infuse its petals into honey, apply it to cooking. In my childhood, we used to have arabian jasmine bush and osmanthus tree in our front yard. According to my memory, arabian jasmine blooms first in the beginning of summer, and then osmanthus follows till autumn. All the summer nights are filled of joyful aroma. Your jasmine sambac and osmanthus really make me feel going back when I was 10.
I just loved the phrase "summer nights filled with joyful aroma." To me, Osmanthus is the scent of sunshine, a joybringer.

Susan Fleet, of New Zealand recently wrote, regarding our German Chamomile CO2 extracted,

I have found this extract far superior to that of the steam distilled oil for all sorts of inflammations and the aroma is a lot more rounded and truer in aroma to the herb.  I dilute this with roman chamomile to a 5% dilution for teething in babies and mums rave about it.

kind regards, Susan Fleet

During further discussion, Susan wrote:

I also love teaching mums how to use the oils for bubs, and the combination of both the chamomiles is such a wonderful combination, very synergistic!  I do use a high dilution on babies compared to most others, the teething mix is a 5% dilution (half roman chamomile and 1/2 german CO2 extract, but you only use one drop and it works quickly and effectively so you don't usually need to reapply it for a longtime.  I add a drop to the palm of my hand and then apply to baby's exterior cheeks, (obviously away from eye area), jaw and chin. If nothing else, it will calm the grumpy youngster, letting them have a better nights sleep and it takes the heat and redness out of the cheek area.  This dilution can also be used for bee stings and stinging nettle.

Bless her heart for sharing that. With two grandsons at 18 months, I think I need to send some to the two Moms!

Participation request:

Longtime client Sara Holmes has created a new website/blog for sharing anecdotal evidence, experiences and research findings.

I really hope this site takes off. We all have so very much anecdotal experience. If a way can be found to combine it, and perhaps do the followup that will allow what we KNOW works to be accepted by the scientific community it will be easier to share our healing art with a wider audience...those who can't believe it until a medical journal states it, perhaps?

That's all for now folks... please try to stay cool if the dog days are upon you!  And if you see a red Chevey Blazer with TN plates heading west... please wave!
