OUR CLIENTS SAY

Nature's Gift Valentine's Day Newsletter

Our continued thoughts & prayers go out to the people of Haiti & the relief workers from across the globe assisting in recovery efforts.  Due to the tragic Haitian earthquake, we thought it fitting to change our Charity of the Quarter to “Doctors Without Borders,” & we are donating monthly, rather than the one time end of the quarter donation so the funds can be put to good use on the ground now.  As usual, 2% of our gross sales each Wednesday will go to the charity of the quarter, as well as your individual donations on our site.  Your response has been extremely generous. In January alone, our clients donated over $120 while ordering. I have to figure our 2% on Wednesdays and get the January donation off to them.

We are also working with the United Aromatherapy Effort (UAE) toward an aromatic donation of product to support the FEMA responders and care givers on the ground. We will share that news with you in the near future.

Our New & Special Sales page is now online and features our favorite sensual and pampering products as well as our most  romantic essential oils and hydrosols sure to make your Valentine's Day special.

This newsletter contains:

  • Lavish & luxurious bath products & massage oil sale
  • Sensual & aromatic hydrosols, some back in stock with reduced pricing
  • Our “romance” essential oils sale
  • Facebook new online reviews, Blog posts & updates
  • 15 on the 15th Anniversary Sale
  • After Inventory Clearance Sale continues
  • Romantic aromatherapy recipes & ideas
  • Our Clients Say (Clients shared formulas to ease the pain of Genital Herpes, and a Cuticle Oil)
  • A new Charity of the Quarter
  • Aromatic quote of the Month

New & Special Sales

On our New & Special Sales page, you'll find our favorite romantic gifts to give or receive!  Pampering & indulgent Rose Bliss Bath, Rose Shower Gel, &
Jasmine Bliss Bath.  Rose Hydrosol, Jasmine (Motia) Hydrosol, & back in stock both our Neroli Hydrosol,& at new reduced pricing Roman Chamomile Hydrosol.

Our favorite massage base carrier oil, Fractionated Coconut Oil is on sale.

For a romantic massage blend I can think of nothing better than Rose Oil, Sandalwood Oil, and perhaps a tiny touch of Black Pepper Oil. For her - rose,
with a touch of Sandalwood. For him - Sandalwood with just a touch of Rose. Add a single drop of Black Pepper Essential Oil to either. We've put the
components on sale, and even added a set of one ounce PET bottles. Other popular "romance" oils include Jasmine Sambac, mild spices such as Cardamon,
the sweet grounding of Vetiver, and, of course Patchouli.

Facebook & Blog Post Updates

Thanks to your support we now have over 1000 Facebook fans on our Facebook page.  If you are not our Facebook fan yet, you're missing out on some
excellent aromatherapy discussions, as well as special Facebook fan only sales & sneak peeks.  We are loving the constant interaction & great ideas that come from our clients on Facebook!  We've also recently added a Reviews tab to our fan page thanks to the help of Donna Maria & folks are beginning to post reviews of our products on Facebook.  We welcome your product reviews.  Let us know what you like, & yes, even what you LOVE!

Over the past month we've blogged about our reflections on our 15th Anniversary, a MRSA article about the work of Debi Rodriguez & St. Clare
Hospital using our Mercy line of products, sending our support to Haiti/new Charity of the Quarter, a special visit by the Camp Phoenix flag from
Afghanistan & our work as first responders with the United Aromatherapy Effort, & Lavender Lotion for Alzheimer's patients.

15 on the 15th Anniversary Sale

Were you around in 2005, when we celebrated our 10th anniversary by offering 10% sales on the 10th of the month? This year, we will be celebrating on the
15th of every month, with a very special 15% sale on one category of products each month. Stay tuned for a brief announcement around the 12th for which
product line will be included in the sale for February 15th.  Mark your calendar and save the promotional code "fifteen" - enter the code at the box
at checkout marked "promo code," press apply, and see your discount applied on screen. In January, many of you saved 15% on our Rare and Precious books selections. We've not yet decided what should be the special category for February.

After Inventory Clearance Sale Continues

Our after inventory clearance sale continues on a number of essential oils & other aromatherapy products.  Many of you have taken advantage of the
clearance oils in regular retail & bulk sizing, but some items do remain.  Visit the Clearance page for big savings while they last!

Romantic Recipes

Romantic blends from Elisabeth Millar:

      Sheer Bliss
        -2 parts Rose
        -2 parts Jasmine
        -2 parts Neroli

Love in the Clouds (helps two lovers lose themselves & walk in the clouds)
        -2 parts Bergamot
        -2 parts Jasmine
        -2 parts Rose
        -2 parts Ylang

Scented Body Rub - to massage him:
        -3 drops Sandalwood
        -3 drops Frankincense
-Added to one tablespoon of your favorite carrier oil.  (We recommend
Fractionated Coconut Oil.)
Scented Body Rub - to massage her:
-1 drop Jasmine (we'd use Auriculatum or Grandiflora)
        -3 drops Ylang Ylang Extra
-Add to your favorite Carrier Oil. (See comments above.)

And a sensual massage blend that MAY have originated with Maggie Tisserand:

2 drops Sandalwood
2 drops Clary Sage
1 drop Ylang Ylang
1 drop Rose
add to 30 ml  Camellia or Sweet Almond oil.......

(As much as I love our Camellia oil, I would still use Fractionated Coconut Oil!)

Or, of course, Marge's favorite...  Rose and Sandalwood, in almost any proportion... for her, use almost all rose oil or rose absolute, with a touch of sandalwood. For him, use almost all Sandalwood, with a hint of Rose.

Our Clients Say:

Lisa Mertz sent this awhile ago.  (I don't know whether sharing something to ease the pain of Genital Herpes is appropriate or perverse at Valentine's Day, but here it is!)

Dear Marge,

>> I gave a friend some calophyllum oil with ravensara and melissa in it
>> to use as an experiment for genital herpes.  She reported it
>> immediately took the pain out and continued to relieve the pain with
>> 2x/daily applications, then the outbreak cleared up in 3 days --
>> rather than suffering for 2 weeks!
>>
>> She tried melissa, neat per Tisserand, and it was effective, too, but
>> she said harsh (as you can imagine) whereas this combination was very
>> soothing.
>>
>> As you might know from our previous emails, I'm pretty absent-minded,
>> so I don't recall how many drops I put in.  I'll have to look into it
>> to be able to do it again...
>>
>> EOs are little miracles.
>>
>> All the best,
>> Lisa

(If I were to blend this, I would use, for one ounce of Calophyllum, perhaps 10 drops of Ravensara and 4 or so drops of Melissa, or 20 or so drops of our Melissa 10% dilution.)

Cuticle Oil Blend:

Cyndi Herzog emailed, mentioning using the oils in a cuticle blend.  I was curious, and asked her to share her formula (and for permission to share with you.)

She wrote back:

The cuticle oil that I made is:

 1 tsp almond oil
 1 tsp. jojoba oil
 1 tsp grapeseed oil

then added

 5 drops of carrot seed
 2 drops eucalyptus
 2 drops peppermint
 2 drops rosemary
 2 drops myrrh
 2 drops geranium

Thank you for sharing that, Cyndi!!!!

Charity of the Quarter:Doctors Without Borders-USA

(As many of you know, Nature's Gift has, for years, donated 2% of every
Wednesday's gross sales to a charitable cause. We also give you the
opportunity to add a dollar or more to your shopping cart order to donate to
this cause.)
Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)
One of the reasons we've selected them is their excellent rating with the
"Charity Navigator" - which vets causes for effective use of funds donated.
