Christmas in July!Exciting days at Nature’s Gift. We have totally moved out of the charming old house that we have occupied for the last five years, and moved into much larger quarters. I think it may take us awhile to get settled in and used to the new surroundings, but the printer and computers are working, and finished products are all unpacked and shelved and ready for shipping to you.

Scientists are finally saying that Rose Hip Seed Oil helps keep our skin looking younger. Amazing! How many years have we been telling you all that? I suspect that ordering the components and blending your own Serum would be a whole lot less costly! The new Serum should smell lovely though; Sandalwood and Rose is one of my favorite blends – in any proportion you choose. Birthday? What Birthday?July 19th is a rather significant birthday for me, and since most of my nearest and dearest are out of state I want LOTS of birthday greetings! Research results will be reviewed and published by AHNA, and the recipient will agree to AHNA guidelines and requirements. You’ve read my mentions of Colleen Miller’s Greenridge Herbals. I love her website and pick her brains on a regular basis. Last month she sent me a jar of her Chamomile Rose Face Cream. This rich cream is much too soothing and nourishing to be used only on the face…I’ve been slathering on my dry hands, my elbows, my legs, and blissfully enjoying the rich aroma of Rose Otto. Our programs are designed to nurture and enable the creative healing process for survivors and their communities. We support the larger anti-violence movement by raising awareness and funding for programs with similar missions." At Nature's Gift, since our products are designed to heal body, mind and spirit, we felt this cause just "fit" who we are. We hope you'll join us in supporting their important work. RECIPES:For the most refreshing (and good for you) summer beverage I know of, simply add a half a teaspoon of either our organic Peppermint hydrosol or our organic Melissa hydrosol to a large glass of ice water. Somehow the added hydrosol makes the cold water much more refreshing. Or, turn our traditional Southern “Sweet Tea” into Sweet Mint Tea by adding a splash of peppermint hydrosol. (Yes, it’s better if you can steep the fresh herb, but sometimes you can’t!) Steaming your fresh summer veggies? Steam them in Melissa Hydrosol for a lovely lemony no calorie lift. And from a six year old newsletter, we have Suzanne Catty’s yummy recipe for: Minted Peas:1 Cup Frozen Peas Put peas, water, hydrosol and a pinch of salt in a covered pan, and cook over low heat for 3 to 5 minutes. Check for doneness, and don't let them cook dry. Drain any left over water and add butter. YUMMY...they tasted like fresh peas...and I despise canned or frozen peas! (Not a dessert in the bunch, I must be slipping!)
