Nature's Gift November Newsletter

Today is Veteran's Day.  We'd like to thank all those who have served our country in the past, and especially to thank those who are currently serving all over the world.  You, and your families, are in our prayers.

We are told (by our favorite service Mom) that the APO shipping deadline for the Near East is mid-November, so we are guessing next week at the latest.

NEW OILS:

Mysore Sandalwood:

My favorite essential oil is Mysore Sandalwood, and I never thought we would be able to offer it again.  A friend went to India and was able to bring back some true MYSORE Sandalwood essential oil. I love our Tamil Sandalwood, but the oil from the state of Mysore has a depth and a richness we have never found elsewhere. This oil is young - distilled early in 2004, and will, of course, improve with age.  But it already has the richness and depth of a true Mysore. I have compared it with my 60 year old sample (the ultimate benchmark) and yes, we are in the same family. 

Rosemary Highland:

A certified organic Rosemary grown and distilled high in the mountains of Provence.  Softer, sweeter and more gentle than our "regular" Rosemary Cineole.  Delightful!  The girls have poured a LOT of samples of this, so when you place your order, request a sample.
 

NEW AMPHORAS:

Two beautiful new amphoras and the return of some out of stock favorites have been stocked up for your holiday shopping.   We also have restocked the Essendulums, however we are reducing the number of woods available on our stock of Essendulums. Our unanimous favorite was the Tulipwood, so we have reordered only the glowing Tulipwood, but in a range of styles. All our essendulums are available on our aromatic jewelry page.
 

6000th ORDER:

It was only September when we promised a gift for whoever  placed order # 5000.  We are approaching # 6000, and the lucky client, which could be you, will receive a copy of our newest book, "The Blossoming Heart"
 

BACK IN STOCK:

Hydrosols:

New shipments of Tea Tree, Spike Lavender, Yarrow, Black Spruce, Ledum, and White Sage hydrosols have arrived.  We had run out of all of these, and are pleased to be able to offer them again. All are available on our Specials page as well as our Hydrosol page.

COMING SOON:  We are awaiting delivery of a very special hydrosol indeed.  Organically grown by a small farmer in Northern California and distilled by an artisan distiller, it is the first Lavender Hydrosol I have ever experienced that really smells like the essential oil.  And it's Lavender Mailette!  I fell in love when the grower sent me a sample (and am just tickled that she chose us as her first "customer")  It is en route, and will be added to both the special and the hydrosol page when it arrives and is rebottled.  Check back to see if it has arrived yet.

Soaps:

We were sold out of two of our favorites: Sweet Patchouli and Mille Fleur.  Both are back and ready to ship. Available on our Aromatic Baths page. (Some of our clients are finding Mille Fleur effective against acne during cold dry weather when our Clarifying soap is a bit too drying.)

Coming soon, when they have finished aging, a new Sandalwood soap, and Three Kings...richly scented with two kinds of Frankincense, Myrrh and Sweet Myrrh, and a touch of Rose.  Gold Mica, for coloring, completes it.

Hints, Tips and Suggestions:

Thinking of ways to use all those Frankincense Oils...and it is amazing how many uses Frankincense has.

    "First of all, that was some kind of "Indian Frankincense" you sold
    me--what a knockout fragrance! I've been blending it with steam distilled
    lime essence and maybe a a drop or two of another citrus or bergamot and
    maybe a little lavender, and it is exquisite to the point of being
    overpowering in my aroma lamp.  I'm not sure what it does to me emotionally,
    but it must be wonderful."

Another blend for the aromalamp or for massage...deep, mysterious, and masculine:

4 parts Frankincense
4 parts Myrrh
2 part Sandalwood
1 part Vanilla

Respiratory Blend:  

Frankincense is the first oil I reach for when coughs or congestion come down in my chest.  I like to blend it with Black Spruce, our Sweet Spanish Eucalyptus, Atlas Cedarwood, and a bit of Hyssop.

Perhaps two drops of Frankincense, Eucalyptus, Black Spruce, and one drop of the Cedarwood and Hyssop, either in the lamp, or added to a carrier oil and rubbed into the throat and chest. 

 Mature Skin Blend:

Start with a base of equal parts of Evening Primrose Oil and Rosehip Seed Oil.
