OUR CLIENTS SAY

Hi folks,

October’s Bright Blue Weather…

I do love Autumn, it’s my favorite season…so to celebrate it, we’ve put some favorites on special.

This newsletter contains information about new products and special sales, as well as some aromatic household hints and a blend for a wonderful stress relieving bath.

ENJOY!

AND THE WINNER IS:

The winner of our Soap Naming contest is Stephanie Smull of Madison Wisconsin. She will be receiving the first bar of ABANDON to go out the door. (runners up were Pleasures, and my personal favorite, Little Flirt.)

Speaking of soaps: We’ve added our Mermen Synergy to a deep orange, myrrh scented soap. Wonderful for damaged skin. And we had been out of stock on Reunite, Rose Confetti, and Sweet Patchouli. All are now back online. In the curing room are a very special Jasmine, and a man’s soap named Exotica…rich, woody and sensual. Since all of our soaps age for at least a month, it will be next month before these are available.

Feedback, from our friend Prakash in Virginia: Entitled “After The Hurricane”

>Ah bliss! Nothing felt better after 4 days using only baby wipes for bodily
cleansing than a long, luxurious shower with my brand new Nature's Gift Harmony
soap.

>I'm in Virginia, right in Hurricane Isabel's path. We were without electricity
& water for several days.

>Magically, the day our electricity returned (and access to blessed water),there
arrived on my doorstep a box of marvels from Nature's Gift. (Every time I open
a box from you, I feel that delight is spilling from amidst the packing peanuts
and dancing all over the room!)  Anyway, I promptly unwrapped my new soap and
stepped into a fabulous hot shower. mmmmmmmmm! Although I order my EOs from you, this was the first time I'd tried one of your soaps. Luscious, scrumptiously scented, & amazingly moisturizing.

Thanks to you all and extra special thanks to Courtney, who took time to advise
me and help with this order."

Almost gone

We are not going to be able to procure more of our Rosa Alba … the white rose. This years harvest sold out completely and I was too late ordering. We are totally sold out of the undiluted Rosa Alba (except for what we have reserved for creation our Solace synergy). We DO have a small supply of the 10% dilution on hand. If you love this spirit soother as much as we do, you will want to order while supplies last. (Last month’s remaining Sandalwood Mysore sold out in 48 hours, so if you want some of the White Rose 10%…order NOW.

Read about it and order it here:

Sports News

Speaking of sports… Monique Macintosh writes: ”Your Helichrysum with German Chamomile CO2 is doing wonders for my scrapes from playing volleyball and rescuing one of my pine trees from a huge wild rose bush.  A good test is my slow pitch softball team mate who loves to slide in shorts.  He has a patch of healing skin on his right leg.  I "loaned" him my bottle of H w/ GC CO2 and he says he already feels the difference in a day.”

Cleaning Sports Shoes - - -

Tennis shoes…soccer cleats… all the sports shoes… a way to freshen them if they get all sweaty. From our Hints and Tips page:

Ingredients:

            4 tablespoons cornstarch
            4 tablespoons baking soda
           20 drops Tea Tree
           10 drops Lemon
           10 drops Lavender

Instructions for Use: Sprinkle the deodorizer lightly into shoes in the     evenings or at times when the shoes will not be worn for a few hours.
You will not see a "cure" for smelly shoes the first time you use the deodorizer. The magic occurs after regular uses.

(Not that any of us would have sweaty sneakers, mind you!)

NEW BOTTLES

You’ve asked for our smaller, one ounce plastic bottles for small amounts of massage blends. We’ve made them available in sets of three, on our specials page, and with our other bottles.

See all our perfume and aromatherapy bottles and jars here:

MORE NEW PRODUCTS:

Autumn means sports, yard work, and sore muscles. You’ve asked us to make our Muscle Ease massage blend available as a synergy, so we have… we are using it in St. John’s Wort and having amazing results. It’s available both on the new and special page (along with our close out SJW) and with our synergies.

Blend Suggestion:

This STRESS RELIEF bath is in an old file of mine…and I’ve lost the source…but it sounds yummy:

Stress Relief Blend - Soak away anxiety and stress with this soothing bath.

3 drops bergamot essential oil
2 drops clary sage essential oil
2 drops sandalwood essential oil
2 drops neroli essential oil
2 drops lavender essential oil

add to some honey, carrier oil, whole milk or liquid soap…and add to a warm (not hot) bath. (Did you know that while warm baths are soothing and relaxing, hot baths are stimulating?)

Fall cleaning hint from our Hints and tips file

Wendy Robbins, from AromaWeb recommends the following for deodorizing your carpet:
Ingredients:
* 35 Drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil
* 30 Drops Lavender Essential Oil
* 25 Drops Rosewood Essential Oil (NOTE, I would sub. Black Spruce!)
* 4 Cups Borax (Mule Team Borax can be found in the grocery store in the laundry detergent aisle, usually)
Notes: I was in a cleaning frenzy one day and decided to make my housework more pleasant by incorporating essential oils into it somehow. I found many ways to do so, but this one of my favorite and it scents the house at the same time. I also used the Eucalyptus and Lavender to help keep whatever pests there are at bay that Lizzy, and Cheech & Chong (our cats) bring in with them.

Directions: To make the carpet deodorizer (any essential oils could be used by the way, just make sure no one in the household finds the odor offensive) measure your 4 cups of Borax into a bowl and then drop in the essential oils indicated in ingredients in the amounts listed. If you find the smell too strong, add more Borax. Take a spoon and mash up the little clumps that will form when the oil hits the Borax, stir until well mixed. Before vacuuming, I walk around the house and sprinkle it by hand in the same manner one would sow seeds. Let it sit on the carpet for 10-15 minutes, or longer if you like, and then vacuum. This formula will cover approx. 1000 square feet, give or take a little.

Our Black Spruce is on special here!

Aromatic Furniture Polish

J.H.Willey Furniture, in Manassas, VA gives the following formula for furniture polish…(we’ve added the Sandalwood oil.)

MULTIPURPOSE FURNITURE OIL
Yields about 1 quart
This solution will cleanse dirt and dust and leave a light oil film.
2 Tbsp olive oil (blend in 15 – 20 drops of Sandalwood or Cedarwood Oil.)
1 Tbsp white vinegar
1 quart warm water
In a glass bottle or jar (a spray bottle is especially convenient), combine all ingredients and mix well. To use, apply to surface and then rub dry with a soft, clean cloth. Solution works best if kept warm while using; place the bottle in a pan of hot water for a few minutes.

Aromatic quote of the month:

October's Bright Blue Weather
O SUNS and skies and clouds of June,
        And flowers of June together,
Ye cannot rival for one hour
        October's bright blue weather;

When all the lovely wayside things
        Their white-winged seeds are sowing,
And in the fields, still green and fair,
        Late aftermaths are growing;
When springs run low, and on the brooks,
        In idle golden freighting,
Bright leaves sink noiseless in the hush
        Of woods, for winter waiting;
When comrades seek sweet country haunts,
        By twos and twos together,
And count like misers, hour by hour,
        October's bright blue weather.
O suns and skies and flowers of June,
        Count all your boasts together,
Love loveth best of all the year
        October's bright blue weather.
