NEW OILS:From a different producer in India comes a trio of divine Jasmine Absolutes: JASMINE GRANDIFLORA, JASMINE SAMBAC, and an all new JASMINE AURICULATUM. Also from India, DAVANA essential oil. The chameleon of perfumery, this steam distilled Davana is very different in texture from the thick, almost unworkable Davana CO2 we once offered. Like the CO2, it unfolds its aroma differently on each individual. HIMALAYAN CEDARWOOD, a bit softer and sweeter than the Atlas Cedarwood I've loved for years, rarest and most special of all, AGARWOOD - Oud. We found a stunningly aromatic and emotionally powerful SOMALIAN FRANKINCENSE. We found another Frankincense Sacra (yes, now our Frankincense sampler includes five specimens, not just four.) IN THE NEWSThe October issue of First For Women magazine ran an article on thinning hair. They suggested a blend of essential oils to use for scalp massage, and mentioned that the blend is available premixed at Nature's Gift under the name Stimulating Scalp Oil. We did not know that the article was mentioning us, and we have been totally deluged by the response to it. (The oil is based on a blend studied and proven effective as treatment for Alopecia, a specific type of baldness. We had never advertised it for thinning hair, so we will be interested in hearing feedback from the wave of new customers.) The United Aromatherapy Effort is an organization founded shortly after September 11th, to send volunteer massage therapists and aromatherapy products into disaster areas. They have renewed their efforts as a result of the two recent hurricanes in the Gulf Coast, and sent out a call for supplies. So a big thank you Natures Gift. Introduction to our staff membersWe're celebrating this month! On October 1, our beloved "T", Debbie Tippitt, became Mrs. George Smith. George is an old member of our family as well. He has lent his unique talents to helping us out in innumerable ways. When something needs fixing, or building, we "let George do it." He and T are both talented artists. The illustration on our Oxygen Barrier is George's work. T is our production manager, responsible for just about everything that happens outside the office. She supervises our pourers, our order packers, and tries to keep order in the chaos that once was our warehouse. We love them both, and wish them every joy in their marriage. (or wear as perfume!) Diffuser blend, from Wendy Robbins of Aromaweb:1 drop of Jasmine Sambac This would make a wonderful solid perfume, as well. Tonight Josephine: (from Chrissy Wildwood's Erotic Aromatherapy)2 drops Bergamot 4 drops Jasmine absolute 2 drops Lavender 2 drops Petitgrain Blend into 15 mls of carrier oil. (or into one full ounce for massage.) Perfume to Calm Anxiety:6 drops Neroli Add to two ounces of carrier, or add a few drops to the aromalamp. Bed Time Bath Blend for Anxiety and Depression:Lavender 4 drops Equal parts Clary sage, Rose Otto, Jasmine Grandiflora , and Vanilla CO2. Either add two drops of each to your aroma lamp or diffuser, or add to your bedtime bath.
