OUR CLIENTS SAY

  September  9, 2003

September  - -  finally Summer is winding down.   New goodies and some VERY low sale prices on our new and specials page.

AUTUMN CELEBRATION

First, to celebrate Autumn, and the Autumn Equinox, we’ve really reduced our Autumn Sunshine Synergy. (My favorite of our Wheel of the Year blends.)  If you haven’t tried this wonderfully crisp Autumn scented blend, at least get a sample.  It has never been priced this low.

Other specials because so many of us are grieving each September, we’ve reduced the price of our Solace and Valour synergies by 40%.  Again, they have never been priced this low.

FALL CLEANING IDEAS

have you seen our hints and tips file at http://www.naturesgift.com/hints_household.htm ?  All sorts of blends for cleaning and freshening your home.  (We’ve totally rewritten our old hints and tips pages…worth a look if you haven’t visited lately.)

GARAGE SALE PRICING

An overstock sale:  Our White Sage Hydrosol, Borage Seed Oil, Melissa 10% and St. John’s Wort infused oil at really low prices only on our specials page www.naturesgift.com/special.htm

N E W Products

We are excited to announce the addition of Rose Maroc (Rosa Centifolia Absolute) to our stock.  Yes, this gives us two rose absolutes, you’ll have to sample both of them.

Rose Pricing

And speaking of Rose oils.  There has been a lot of talk online about the prices of the new harvest Rose Oils.  I have seen vendors claiming that their prices from their sources have increased as much as 60% and, of course, they must pass the increases on to their customers.  We are delighted to announce that we have been able to hold Rose prices back to just 15% over last years pricing.  Yes, its an increase.  But I’m told it’s one of the best bargains in town.

ROSE WAX

And…more about roses.  We have in a new shipment of Rose Wax, from the Ukraine.  We like it better than the Indian Rose Wax we had earlier.  This seems to have much less solvent smell to it.  Sweeter and more floral. Because we have a lot of it, it’s offered not only with our other floral waxes in one ounce containers, but in larger sizes on our Fast Buys page.

Still more about roses:   Our Rose Oil vial in the Folk Art Containers are on sale…we want to clear the space.  Both are priced lower than the current value of the rose oil they contain.  Again, see our Specials page.

BACK in STOCK Items:

MYSORE SANDALWOOD.  We thought it was out of stock.  Far in the back of the store room Debi found a handful of 2 ml bottles that had been misplaced.  They are available as long as they last.
FRANKINCENSE SACRA Steam distilled from Oman.  We had been out of the steam distilled for several weeks; our new supply just arrived on Wednesday.
CARROT SEED HYDROSOL this had been out of stock for so long, and folks keep asking when it will be back in. The answer is NOW.  Available on our Specials page and on our Hydrosol page.

CONTEST Name that Soap.

Courtney accidently came up with a scent blend while we were testing samples.  We loved it.  Ylangylang, vetiver, cinnamon leaf and ambrette.  So we made a big batch and I made soap.
It is… sexy…lighthearted…makes me smile …sexy…spicy… sexy… laughproducing …playful. did I say sexy?.. we all love it.  The soap is white (unlike most of our milk soaps) with lavender swirls, really pretty… And we can’t decide on a name we like.
Courtney wants Playful Passion
I said “Sultry Spice”
Debbie said SEX (pure and simple)
We don’t like any of these, and want more ideas.
Send email to SOAP@naturesgift.com with your suggested name, and your mailing address.  The winner will receive a 6 ounce bar. (It needs to age until near the end of the month, so there’s time yet.)

and speaking of our soaps…

Kathleen Young, of Delaware, recently reordered several bars..with the comment “Got to have more soap to keep my skin soft. I have never felt so clean and had such soft skin. I have stopped using any lotion. I just don\'t need it anymore.  Thank you, thank you.:)

When we wrote asking permission to quote her, she replied with:  Sure you can use my quote about the soaps. I have had very dry skin especially on my lower legs. Sometimes they would itch so much I would scratch until I ended up with bleeding and then they would scab over and itch more. Not a pretty sight. It was worse in the winter. Most of the time the skin on my legs had that white scale look. But not since I have been using your wonderful soap. No more itch, no scaly look, just nice soft skin. I have tried many different brands of shower gel, soap and lotions. But never with any long term relief, until now. And of course the scents of your soap are a bonus. I love them.
Use any part of this that you like. By the way, I am planning to give my sister and daughter some of your soap for Christmas this year. It will be hard to give them away, but I really can't think of a nicer gift to pamper someone with, can you?

SOAP SPECIAL

Which reminds me… purchase any two six oz bars of our soaps this month, and receive a FREE sea grass sponge (a $4.00 value.)  Included would, of course, be the new 6 ounce bars of our Oatmeal, Milk and Honey, and our kitchen soap ESPRESSO strongly coffee scented to remove food odors from your hands.

MOSQUITO BITES

Courtney snipped the following from a list she’s on. She didn’t save the poster, so I haven’t a clue…but if  you have forgotten your Skeeterbeater…and gotten  ‘bit’…this may be the solution.
“I also got some astonishingly _LOVELY_ german chamomile CO2
from Nature's Gift that blew me away.  I diluted a drop with a drop
of heli in jojoba, and have applied it to my skeeter bites - and there
is immediate relief.  I also applied it to spots, and they
disappeared more quickly than usual.  I can't wait to incorporate
this chamo into skincare, and maybe a perfume (yes, it's a GERMAN
chamo, and it's THAT lovely.)”

Eczema suggestion

Again, I can’t remember the source of this…but it uses some of that Borage Seed oil that we have marked down this month:
4 oz jojoba oil
20 drops Borage Seed oil
12 drops lavender essential oil (I would use Hi Altitude)
12 drops roman chamomile essential oil (I’d think about German, not Roman…but it’s not my formula)

another note about Eczema…we have had a couple of mother’s using our Lavender Bliss Bath for their children’s eczema and dry skin.  They rave about results.

Back to school thoughts.

Years ago we saw a researcher present results that indicated if a specific fragrance is used while studying, and the same fragrance is available during a test, recall is improved and the test scores increase.  So inhaling, let’s say sweet basil while studying a foreign language, and being able to smell the same oil during exams should help.  Keying a specific aroma to a specific subject seemed important in aiding recall.  We’d like to remind you of our Focus blend, and the oils that are known to be mental stimulants… Lemon, Sweet Basil, Rosemary…  these might prove helpful to your students.  (Also a reminder that the Playtime votive contains these oils and might be a good study aid, as well.)

Aromatic Quote of the Month

(in honor of our stash of Mysore Sandalwood) :

How many are the trees on earth that bear
the scented flower and juicy fruits!
Yet, O' Sandal you are unique in possessing
Unparalleled fragrance of wood.
-       Sanskrit shloka (undated)

Have a glorious September…and please pass this newsletter along to a friend.  (Did you know we send a thank you gift if a new customer says you referred her to us?)
