Back Ease

A blend created to help ease joint pain caused by arthritis, rheumatism, etc.   The synergy is composed of our wonderfully healing Helichrysum ... for its anti-inflammatory action, Black Pepper (for circulation stimulation and gentle heating) and Lavandin Super (a wonderful all around pain reliever.)

One friend says this eases his aching back better than anything else we've tried.  Try this gentle pain reliever on arthritic joints, deep seated backaches, etc. It's not an 'instant relief' sensation, but many have found it helpful. (The client for whom I originally designed this blend, after trying perhaps a half dozen samples to see which would be most effective, came back and ordered 8 ounces of the undiluted synergy. If that isn't a "product endorsement" I don't know what is!)

We recommend diluting the synergy either in our St. John's Wort Oil, or in the carrier oil of your choice, but it would also be useful in a hot or cold compress or bath.

Detox

A careful blend of essential oils long believed to have detoxifying effects on both the skin and the internal organs, Lemon, Juniper Berry, Seaweed, and Fennel. Please avoid using this blend if you are pregnant!

I don't necessarily believe that the use of essential oils can help reduce/remove cellulite, however many authorities, among them Valerie Worwood, write that with patience and persistence the oils can, in fact, make wonderful improvement. If you want to try reducing cellulite with an EO synergy this would be the one to try, as it contains all the oils normally recommended for cellulite treatment.

KLEENHANDZ  The natural version of a Hand Sanitizer.

But I can't legally call it a hand sanitizer.   So we are calling it "KleenHandz" until we find a different name. 

It's so easy you could really make it yourself.  We've taken the ingredients of our MERCY treatment gel, a leave-on aloe based gel, containing Lavender and Tea Tree oils in a precise dilution proven, in the lab, to kill MRSA bacteria.  To that we have added a generous portion of our antiviral Ravintsara, to keep the gel gentle enough for children.  We're packaging it in a 4 ounce Cobalt bottle with a lotion pump, for ease of use, and a one ounce purse sized bottle to carry with you.  We recommend applying (like hand cream) two or three times a day.

Muscle Ease

A unique massage blend for overworked muscles. A blend of pain relieving oils, Lavandin, Ginger, and Eucalyptus. ( I recently discovered this is WONDERFUL for the aches and pains of the flu; yes, of course I discovered it the hard way!)

Personally, I use this blend at the end of a day that has overtaxed my resources, or used muscles that don't normally get exercised. Rub it in at bedtime and know that I'm not going to be awakened in the night with cramps in my legs or ankles, and that in the morning I'll be pain-free.

MERCY Soap and Treatment Gel

MRSA-(drug resistant "staph")

Some time ago we were contacted by a holistic nurse/client in Wisconsin and asked to take part in a research project.  Reading she had done indicated that a body wash, containing lavender and tea tree essential oils, if left on the skin for a period of time, could be effective against MRSA (methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus). 

We tested different strengths and combinations until we found the mixture that was 100% effective in the laboratory.  This particular combination killed the MRSA bacteria in a laboratory culture.  The results have been repeated and replicated.  Oddly enough, we found that no single essential oil completely killed the bacteria. (Although the most effective was a rare Spike Lavender from France, which, of course, we promptly imported!)

We later went on to test a "leave on" version. The same blend, at a different dilution, in our gentle organic aloe vera gel.  It too kills the MRSA bacteria under laboratory conditions.

Human trials are being organized in Wisconsin even as I type.  But we are unwilling to wait to release the product that has been tested. (And the nurses want to order it for their personal use!)

Will our MERCY Body Wash and/or Treatment Gel kill the MRSA bacteria if you come in contact with it?  We don't know. And even if we did know, we couldn't say so, due to various federal laws and regulations.

What we can say is that the soap will clean your skin, and contains proven natural anti-bacterial ingredients, and that the treatment gel will soothe your skin, while also providing proven, natural all organic anti-bacterial ingredients.

I  wish I had known of this research in Autumn 2005 when I was hospitalized for two weeks and spent months recuperating....from MRSA!

Cool It! Synergy

We've been asked to make the blend used in our Sunburn Soother available for other uses.  Our most powerful anti-inflammatory essential oils - soothing German Chamomile, rare Corsican Helichrysum and organic French Lavender combine to sooth burns, ease redness, quench the flame of burns, rashes, and any topical inflammation.  We recommend blending at perhaps 2% or 2.5% (12 to 15 drops per fluid ounce of your chosen carrier oil or aloe vera gel.) For our Sunburn Soother, we add to our organic Jojoba, then blend in our organic Aloe Gel.  Blend into your favorite facial oil, lotion or cream to ease itching, irritation...you name it.

SineEase 

This soothing blend of Sweet Basil, Eucalyptus, Peppermint, and Lavender designed to relieve sinus pain and congestion. Available as Facial Massage Oil (in pure Jojoba base) and Synergy for inhalation. Our guinea pigs found this precise balance of ingredients wonderful at easing sinus headaches. I like to use  the facial massage oil, rubbed into my cheek bones and eyebrows.

SleepEase

For those nights that your mind simply won't hush and let you relax into sleep.  Sadie and I tested several variations on a theme and came up with a sweetly citrus scented blend of Lavandin Super (more relaxing than Lavender angustifolia according to Dr. Jane Buckle), Sweet Marjoram, Green Mandarine (our most relaxing citrus oil) and Roman Chamomile.  It doesn't SMELL like it would put you to sleep, but everyone was yawning the day we poured it.   (I use mine in an aromastone.)

Because of the citrus oils we prefer to use this new synergy by inhalation, rather than in a bath.  If adding to a bath, please be sure to dissolve in some liquid castile first.  Marge prefers to use it in the AromaStone on her bedtable.

Relax

As part of Christi’s training at the Institute for Integrative Aromatherapy, a number of case studies were required.  One of the blends she formulated has taken on a life of its own and we wanted to make available this calming blend of Green Mandarine, Fragonia, & Lavandin Super.  Originally designed to help a client with anxiety, stress issues and overall wellbeing, it became clear very quickly this blend is very helpful for those experiencing problems going to sleep & staying asleep.  Yes, we do offer our Sleep Ease Synergy which has benefitted many people over the years and is similar in nature, but Relax is a blend which might be nice to rotate with the Sleep Ease or as an alternative to it.

Relax has a very pleasant aroma as the Fragonia seems to meld the Green Mandarine & Lavandin together quite nicely, like humming a happy tune, according to Christi. Dr. Jane Buckle recommends Lavandin Super as the best choice for sleep blends & we experimented with many of our Lavenders but kept coming back to the Lavandin for best results.  Relaxing for body, mind, & spirit. We do not recommend using the blend in the car or at work but at home when you want to remove stress, calm & center yourself, & at night before bedtime.  We use it in an aromastone on a night table & have found we not only go to sleep quicker: we sleep soundly throughout the night.  Not for use on skin undiluted. After the Bite

Yes, if you remember your SkeeterBeater you shouldn't HAVE any bites. But sometimes you leave home without it. Sometimes a mosquito sneaks into your bedroom, or your car, or someplace there should NOT be a mosquito.  Or you open the door to let the dog out and they POUNCE on poor unprotected you.

Christi to the rescue!

She has blended our Australian Blue Cypress and Cajeput, both recommended for treating stings and 'bug bites', with soothing Lavandin and cooling Lemongrass. All these in a base of anti-inflammatory and pain relieving St. Johns Wort Infused Oil. 

Those who have needed it are unanimous. It almost instantly eases the burn and itch, reduces swelling and inflammation.  Christi suggests storing it in the refrigerator for even greater relief.

Before you ask, I don't KNOW if it will help with bee, hornet or wasp stings. Thankfully, we have not had occasion to test it.  If you do, we would love feedback!

Our hints and tips files and old newsletters are filled with sunburn remedies shared by our clients.  The common threads are lavender, Helichrysum and one of the "Blue" essential oils, with either a rich carrier oil or aloe vera. Bumps and Bruises and Overworked Muscles Oh My!

"That's Better!"   a blend we have recommended to a LOT of clients.   Yes, you can make it yourself.  Our Arnica Infused oil  with 5% Helichrysum added to it.

I've used it for bumps and bruises,  for severely overworked muscles.  A friend walked close to 10 miles and said his hip was just throbbing..  this blend made the pain vanish in almost no time.    "That's better!"     You may easily make it yourself.  1.5 ml of Helichrysum italicuum in one fluid ounce of our Arnica Infused oil.  Easier than pie!  But if you are not comfortable blending your own oils, you may order it here.   

We've received raves from people who have used this blend for plantar fasciitis.  No first hand experience (for which we are grateful) but enough feedback that I feel confident recommending it. 

Although I believe our Arnica infusion is probably the safest on the market I still heed the recommendations of my herbalist friends and avoid using this mixture on broken skin.
