In
association with AMAZON.COM, the world's largest bookstore, Nature's Gift
is pleased to offer the following selection of Aromatherapy books.
Please Note: There are several books that I strongly recommend that
are NOT available through Amazon. For information on them, please go to
our "Special Books" page.
My book!
The publisher was supposed to get it to me before it went to
Amazon. If I had it in stock, it would have the dedication
(which the publisher omitted) and maybe an autograph. But
if you really can't wait... please order from Amazon at this
link.
HOLISTIC AROMATHERAPY FOR ANIMALS.
This is the ONLY book that I recommend for treating our fur
family. Kristen is an old friend and an extremely knowledgeable
aromatherapist. I value her stress on safety as well as
effective treatment. I refer to her work often in treating
my aging animals.
Clinical Aromatherapy
Dr. Jane Buckle (PhD) has been one of my mentors since the
day we met years ago. We recommend her Foundations in
Clinical Aromatherapy home study course, we supply the essential
oils for both the Clinical Course and the first module of her
face to face Clinical Aromatherapy course.
For those not at this time ready to enroll in a formal
course, I highly recommend the second edition of Jane's
book. (The first edition was aimed strictly at nurses, and
is out of print. I wish the publisher would reprint it, since it
really had a different focus.)
The author presents firmly documented research on the
practical therapeutic uses of essential oils in a clinical
setting. An invaluable guide both to the home user and to
the professional, bringing the healing art and science of
aromatherapy into a clinical setting.
HYDROSOLS; THE NEXT AROMATHERAPY
Suzanne has taken the use of my beloved hydrosols far beyond skincare and room scenting and shows how they may be used for true aromatherapy healing. This book is bound to be controversial, Suzanne has broken many of the "conventional" recommendations by using the hydrosols internally in detailed courses of treatment. Wonderful ideas of combinations of hydrosols, for external or internal use in ways that were new to me.
Suzanne offers monographs on monographs on 67 (!) hydrosols, information on their production, and, more important, their energetic, physical and emotional uses. Information on proper use and storage, a chapter of recipes for both health and
well being as well as a section of just for fun recipes for skincare, and culinary uses.... the book is a long awaited treasure!
Aromatherapy for Vibrant Health & Beauty a Practical A to Z Reference to Aromatherapy
Treatments for Health, Skin,
an in a new, revised and updated edition. I have recommended the first edition of this book for years as one of my two favorite "beginner's books"...it offers a wonderful balance of basic information about a good array of oils along with "recipes"...suggested formulas for bath, massage and diffuser blends. The new edition includes more Essential Oils, and information about the use of Hydrosols, one of the first books, other than Suzanne Catty's to give detailed information on these healing waters. A "must have" for your library!
Aromatherapy
for Healing the Spirit : A Guide to Restoring Emotional and Mental
Balance Through Essential Oils; Gabriel Mojay; Paperback; $15.96;One of my favorites! But before ordering from Amazon, check our
SPECIAL BOOKS PAGE for the first edition at a reduced price.
Natural Baby Care - Colleen is an old friend, and has written a wonderful
book about the safe use of natural aromatics for your baby or toddler.
My daughter's in law each received a copy of this when they were pregnant, as
well, of course, as our Happy Baby products when the wee ones were borne.
This is the first book I found about using the oils I love with babies and
toddlers. There are others that are far more complex, but this remains my
favorite simple introduction. Instead of surrounding your newborn with
synthetic chemicals, learn how to care for them with your own simple natural
products.
MAKING AROMATHERAPY CREAMS AND LOTIONS
At long last, THE guide to true, healing skincare. Donna Maria's years of experience creating nourishing skincare products that delight the spirit are a guide to all of us who love the aromatic extracts known as essential oils. The first book I've seen that encourages the user to indulge in the truly exquisite aromatics. The book is a delight...great information on choosing the appropriate aromatic solution for your skin, and recipes that make creating these fragrant goodies possible for all of us. Start with her "aromatic alchemy" section near the front of the book...find the aromatic blend that suits your skin type...then experiment with simple recipes for creams to nourish your skin. Scent blending suggestions for "exquisite aromatics"...the rare and precious absolutes and oils are included...where just a drop or two in a blend can make a powerful difference. Recommended hydrosols for different skin types and problems. Natural scrubs and exfoliators from your pantry. Who can resist trying recipes like "Heaven Must Be Like This" (an after bath lotion for dry skin) or "the Velveteen Habit" (a soother for dry skin.) Think your face need alpha hydroxy acids for rejuvenation? Donna Maria provides them with fresh fruit facials....a Tomato TuneUp for oily skin, "Honey Apricot Body Brulee to pamper your whole body far better than any commercial spa product can. I've just touched the surface...this book is a must have for anyone interested in natural skincare.
(The fact that she recommends so many of the products we've carried for years...the CO2 extracts, the hydrosols, the rare and precious oils...that's a bonus!)
Releasing Aphrodite
by Elisabeth Millar. Releasing Aphrodite is the
ultimate Aromatherapy Aphrodisiac. Ms Millar first sets
the scene for seduction with a wide range of romantic and
sensual blends for the aroma lamp in a chapter called
"Stimulating Desire". Then she includes a very simple four step
massage blend. Her description is far too steamy for my monitor,
so you must have the book to read it yourself. A brief
section of aromatic baths "In the Afterglow" finishes this
section.
Later in the book she provides suggestions and formulas for
"Living as Lovers" - room fragrances, body oils and bath blends
to enhance and encourage true intimacy as well as sensuality.
The book is charming, and a delightful suggestion for
Valentine's Day.
