Back in Stock:

After a long wait, we finally have High Altitude Lavender...Lavender Fine,  Certified Organic, grown from seed above 1400 meters in the French Alps. Most authorities consider this the world's finest lavender - the benchmark against which all others are measured.  We also have finally restocked our organic Lavender Mailette, as well as our other French organic oils.  See and order on our New and Specials page.

We have also restocked our organic Lavender Hydrosol, organic White Sage Hydrosol,  our wee hanging clay pots, for closet or car and  the popular Triskele Aroma Lamp.  Since the weather is cooler where we are and it's finally safe to ship, we have made new batches of our Baby Bottom Balm and our whipped Shea Soufflé.  For now, only available on our specials page (we are working on adding all the new and back in stock products to our 'regular' pages, but that takes time.)  Also back in stock after a long absence, our healing Melissa Calendula Lip Balm.  We hadn't planned to make more, but have received so many requests we had to make it available again.

NEW to Nature's Gift:

Delightfully fruity Elderberry Hydrosol and clear, sharply lemony Lemongrass Hydrosol - Organically produced in the US.  Quantities are limited, order now from our Specials page.

Autumn Celebration Sale:

To start with, of course, our Autumn Sunshine Synergy - the memories of my childhood Autumns... essential oils that say Autumn to us: Oakmoss, Tobacco Absolute, mysterious African Muhuhu, Australian Blue Cypress, Guaiacwood, both our Cedarwoods, our deepest Patchouli, Rosewood, Vetiver...  Save 10% on all by ordering on our Specials page:   Autumn Hydrosols also on sale - Vetiver, Cedarwood and Patchouli.  If you've been meaning to order them, and delayed, now is the time.

Our Clients Say:

What makes our day?  Hearing from our clients that something we made available to them made a difference!  Recent feedback:

From Trudy Schrader in OR:

Let me know when your High Altitude Lavender is in stock please.
I have found that if I mix Lavender and Bag Balm it is the best burn cream I have ever found. I do a lot of cast iron cooking and that leads to a lot of burns. I keep a jar of the mix with me and as soon as I get a burn it goes right on the spot. With in seconds the hurt stops and a few min. later you never know it was burned.
I grabbed the handle of a pot that had been in a 400+ oven with a bare hand, frying one finger. Was told by an EMT it should have skin graft but after two weeks of lavender and bag balm the dead skin came off and you would never know it was burned. It also never hurt after the first day, just my mix every so often each day and a clean cotton finger over it was all I did. The burned skin turned hard like plastic and after two weeks I scrubbed it off with a brush, still no pain, and I do have full feeling and use of it now.

I told Trudy that as a city gal I had never heard of Bag Balm until online friends started talking about it. For the other city gals in our readership, you may read what wikipedia says about Bag Balm here.  If you prefer not to use a product containing petrolatum or lanolin, you might want to try our Sunburn Soother...we've had raves about its use for kitchen burns.

Stress?????

Kimberly Ayers recently blogged about our Cape Chamomile for stress relief.

Office Aromas:

Ann Vetter Hansen from Bellingham WA wrote:

"Just wanted to let you know that my family law clients love how my office smells. I just had one come in who just seemed to adore the Valour I have on my aroma lamp. So I\'m getting her the anointing oil.
I really think I have more relaxed clients on the days I remember to use my Valour or Reunite."

Stands to reason...  Any time I need to deal with a lawyer, I need something to either calm my anxiety or increase my courage.  Wonderful choices for a Law office.

Hints and Tips

From a ten year old newsletter:

Blending VERY wee quantities, or very weak dilutions?

From my old friend Stacey - blend creator extraordinaire!
I've got directions on diluting down an adult dose of 3 drops EO down
to 1/12th if you need it. (My brain hurts thinking about how to reduce 1
  drop to 1/12th.)
Put 60 drops of the carrier oil you're using into a small cup/bowl.
  Add 1 drop EO.
'Stir' blend with the glass part of an eyedropper.
Measure out 15 drops of this blend with the eyedropper.
Add these 15 drops to the bottle you'll be using for the rest of the massage blend.

this will give you 1/4 of one drop of the essential oil.

Seems to me this can be very handy indeed when trying to reduce a formula, for
an infant, or the aged/infirm, etc.

More, from years past:

A blend for the children....

A friend's son  had been going through some difficult changes recently, and the bits and pieces of TV news he has seen have made a hard time even more difficult for the little guy. (He's in Kindergarten.)

So she made him his very own soap... with a blend we think we'll name "Inner Child"

Equal parts of Red Mandarine,  Bulgarian Lavender, and English Chamomile.

Her son loves it.  We love it.  Over the years we've gifted other children with it.

The Lavender and English Chamomile are obviously gently quieting
and sedating.  The Mandarine, one of the few other oils recommended
for young children, is uplifting, and smile-bringing, without stimulating
either the physical body or the mind and emotions.  A lovely bedtime
bath blend or bedtime  backrub blend, if your children are disturbed
by the world around them.  Or for your own inner child, who has REASON
to be disturbed by the world around us!

QUOTE OF THE MONTH

O suns and skies and flowers of June,
